Tejas’ Sales Team is a combination of people in the organization who work to present detailed and accurate estimates and proposals for our clients. Many of our clients tell us that we were selected to perform their work because of the detail we put into creating a proposal and knowing that we will put that same level of detail into the project. Over the last 5 years, Tejas has grown 42% on average year-over-year. We believe everyone in the organization contributes to the sales process and that our success is attributable to that.
We start the estimating process by using details from the client to locate their property in our mapping program. Our mapping program shows us land contours, water features, soil types, pipelines, and many other variables that can affect the fence configuration. This helps us get a fairly accurate estimate for the client in a short period.
Once the estimating phase is complete, the next step is to conduct a site visit. On the site visit, we meet with the client to go over items like gate locations/sizes, water gap dimensions, right-of-way clearing, and any other variables that may be crucial in arriving at an accurate scope for the project. Once the site visit is complete, our estimator will use information from the site visit and convert the Estimate into a Proposal/Contract for the job.
After the client receives and reviews the Proposal/Contract, we ensure all questions are answered and any necessary revisions are made. Once the contract is signed, we immediately work on scheduling and other pre-production items like material procurement and logistics.
We add a project to our schedule once the contract is signed. We will then communicate with the client multiple times before the project’s start date. In our world of outdoor construction, variables such as weather, material delivery delays, and equipment breakdowns can occasionally affect the start date. We promptly keep our clients apprised of any schedule changes so they know we will be at the property when we say we will be there.
Material Delivery is typically done weeks before a project start date to help prevent delays to the start date. On the site visit, we will discuss where the materials will be stored, known as the “Material Laydown Area.” This is where the materials will be kept throughout the project.
Tejas’ project management team is focused on allocating proper resources, materials, equipment, and manpower along with the project design, scheduling, management, and quality control to get the job done right, on time, and on budget. Our commitment to doing the right things in the right ways runs through our entire system.
Our installation teams use a progressive safety app to focus on safe and efficient operations. We utilize an Asset tracking system to help us know where our equipment is, its condition, and when it requires maintenance or preventative maintenance.
Our Field Operations Manager coordinates efficient equipment care and planning with our project manager and in-house maintenance team to ensure top level performance of our machinery and equipment.
The sequence of the installation process
Project duration: we typically schedule a four (4) man crew to average a mile of fence built each week. Other features can take additional time depending on site requirements
Our total focus is on doing the right things in the right ways so that our clients are not only satisfied but are “wowed” by the results of our work. With the right equipment, operated by professionally trained people who take pride in their work, love the company they work for, and care about impressive results, we routinely wow our clients.
Our best source of new business is referrals. It is very gratifying to see how many of our new clients and projects come from referrals and recommendations of satisfied clients and businesses that know our focus on doing things right.
