ATHENS, TX, May 18, 2017 — Robert Newman, a fencing industry innovator, has joined Tejas Ranch & Game Fence as lead CAD engineer and chief estimator where he will consult with clients on complex fence solutions. A 2005 graduate of Texas A&M University, Newman is an expert in CAD design, drafting, product development, and estimating. He also is the named inventor on four U.S. patents for rackable fence systems.
Newman worked with Tejas founder John Payne at Payne Fence Products from 2005 until 2009 when Betafence USA bought the company. He stayed with Betafence until January 2017, rejoining Payne at Tejas this past February.
“Robert Newman brings extensive experience, creativity, and an inventor’s perspective to fencing,” says Payne, president and CEO of Tejas. “We’re very fortunate to have him here at Tejas.”
As a landowner himself, a personal passion for farming and ranching informs Newman’s work. He lives with his wife, Jasmine, and their four sons outside of Rice, Texas, where he coaches youth-league basketball and is a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher in his church. “John hired me straight out of school and taught me much of what I know today. I’ve always been grateful for his mentorship,” said Newman. “I look forward to working with the Tejas team to provide Texas landowners with the quality fencing and customer service they expect from us.”
