Houston hosts a variety of world-class hunting and fishing expos all throughout the year. Expos provide hunting and fishing enthusiasts an educational outlet to discover more information about the industry and connect with like-minded individuals and organizations. Houston’s massive size (the nation’s 4th largest city) make it a “hot spot” for expos of all kind. Its proximity to the coast, lakes and big ranch country offers a wide array of recreational opportunities. Detailed below is a consolidated list of our favorite events and expos held annually in Houston.
Texas Trophy Hunters Association Hunting Extravaganza
Mission and Purpose: Known as the voice of Texas Hunting, the Texas Trophy Hunters Association is a known leader in the Texas hunting and outdoor world. Members take pride in the mission to promote, protect, and preserve Texas’ wildlife resources and hunting heritage for future generations. TTHA also provides members with resources and products to aid their hunting and outdoor experience.
Expos and Events: The Texas Trophy Hunters Association presents their annual Hunters Extravaganza in late July or early August every year. Displaying all of the essential hunting gear from camo, blinds, feeders, ATVs, optics, game calls, and more. With countless giveaways and attractions there is no question why they call TTHA’s Hunters Extravaganza the Granddaddy of all Hunting Shows.

Houston Safari Club Foundation
Mission and Purpose: The Houston Safari Club Foundation’s mission is to preserve the sport of hunting through education, conservation and the promotion of their hunting heritage. Through their education initiatives they have provided over 500 scholarships totaling over 2.1 million dollars. In an effort to conserve the hunting community they have also provided over 3.7 million dollars in grants.
The Houston Safari Club Foundation partners with hundreds of conservation-focused individuals and organizations including Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, National Rifle Association, and Texas Wildlife Association to name a few. The Houston Safari Club community consists of hunting enthusiasts from all walks of life dedicated to making a difference.
Events/Expos: The Houston Safari Club Foundation is held at the beginning of each calendar year. The expos are located at the George R. Brown Convention Center with over 100,000 square feet of exhibit space. The annual event is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals not only through the exhibits, but also the banquets and auction activities.

Quail Coalition
Mission and Purpose: The Quail Coalition’s mission is to “to sustain and restore huntable wild quail populations, to encourage and educate interested youth, and to celebrate quail hunting heritage in this region.” The Rolling Plains Quail Research Ranch, Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute, Quail-Tech Alliance, and Wildlife Habitat Federation are all beneficiaries of the Quail Coalition’s funding efforts.
Expos and Events: The Quail Coalition holds an annual Greater Houston Banquet in the fall. This Houston event supports the efforts of the Quail Coalition and donates 100% of the proceeds towards quail research and youth education.

Coastal Conservation Association
Mission and Purpose: The Coastal Conservation Association is a non-profit marine conservation organization that consists of 17 coastal state chapters. Thousands of recreational saltwater anglers make up its membership. The CCA’s vision is to ensure the health and conservation of the marine resources and anglers’ access to them.
Expos and Events: The CCA Houston chapters host banquets throughout the summer. Houston chapters include Alvin/Pearland, Central Houston, Fort Bend, Greater Sugar Land, Greater Woodlands, Houston Homebuilding, Katy, Northeast Houston, Northwest Houston, Tomball/Magnolia and West Houston. Houston Fishing Show
Mission and Purpose: For the past four and half decades, the Houston Fishing Show has served as a launching pad for innovation in recreational angling. Industry manufacturers present their best at the Houston Fishing Show knowing their products will pass anywhere if Texas fisherman react favorably. The attendees of the Houston Fishing Show play a crucial role in setting the fishing standard.
Expos and Events: The Houston Fishing Show is held at the beginning of March every year. The George R. Brown Convention Center hosts the event featuring 200,000 square feet of space. The Houston Fishing Show is the largest consumer fishing show in the nation and exhibits include fishing equipment, boats, freshwater and saltwater guides, vacation and seminars.
